We’ve all had one of those bosses. That’s a very vague and not very specific phrase I have just written. “One of those” is more specific than any, and when you hear the word “boss”, one ultimately thinks of harsh-minded commander. When you mesh the entire phrase together, one of those bosses, you begin to understand exactly what I mean. We’re not talking about a videogame challenge…
The Devil Wears Prada
Superman Returns
Faster than a speeding bullet. More powerful than a locomotive. Able to leap tall buildings in a single bound. It’s a bird! It’s a plane! No, it’s Superman! Cue John Williams’s opening theme. But who is Superman?! When is the last time you heard that one? Superman has been around since the late 1930s (first appearing in 1938) and has become one of the most famous pop culture icons of all time…
True Carribean Pirates
Though this is not a movie or Disney’s version of the carribean pirates, it is important to know the inspiration of a such a great film and is important world history to understand. It is clarified that treasure maps are most likely a work of fiction, but the pirates discussed are not. The warfare was real, the ships were real, the pirates were real, the ruthlessness was real…
Click
There have been various instances where people have been able to control their universe at will, only in the movies and on T.V. of course. One of my personal favorites was The Twilight Zone episode in which a man comes into posession with a watch that can stop time and freeze everyone and everything around him…
Tom Roarty and his “Karma”
I’m only confident because I don’t know I am not suppose to be! Actually, I really like the story and I have always been into movies that develop characters and don’t just base base their success on special effects. I think there should be more character based movies sequels, because in actuality you’re trying to squeeze an entire life of a stranger into a two hour block of time. I decided to continue ths story from before and after view points because it came to me so easliy thanks in part to the actors who would ask “where did this charactor come from?”[…]
Nacho Libre
In the magical land of Mexico (in which in the real world everyone is fleeing), a priest, Nacho (Jack Black), has lived at a Mexican Monastery since he was an orphan and his dream to become a luchadore (wrestler) is crying out. Every since he was a young child (Troy Gentile),shown in flashbacks, he has alway wished to be a masked fighter. Everyday he serves the orphan children disgusting slop[…]
A Prairie Home Companion
On Saturday evenings on the way home from church my Mom and I would always listen to a variety show on NPR known as A Prairie Home Companion. It had plenty of quirky stories, humor, fake commercials, and original musical numbers. The show originally aired in 1974 as a variety show and it had had ran at the Macalester College until it landed in The Globe in St. Paul in 1978[…]
Cars
The cars universe is pretty much only inhabited by cars. Sure there are a few plants here and there, but even the insects are tiny little vehicles. I could not once in the entire film spot any other type of organism. The cars guzzle oil and use gas, but nothing more. Where is anything else? Are the plants made out of tiny little vehicle-like cells? Where is any kind of food chain? What happens when gas prices go up…span>
